Infection Prevention and Control Governance for Businesses providing Support Workers
No team members are to attend work under any circumstance if you have cold, flu or Covid 19 symptoms or have been identified as a close or casual contact. In addition do not attend work if someone you have close contact with meets this criteria.
1. Every business, regardless of size, providing support work must have a covid safe plan COVID-19 Safety Plans | NSW Government. Please provide your plan to your participant and the case manager before commencing any work.
2. All support workers must have completed Covid 19 Infection Prevention and Control Training
3. All support workers must have had Covid 19 Vaccinations.
a. All team members are to be vaccinated as per Public Health Orders and restrictions - COVID-19 (Coronavirus) (nsw.gov.au)
b. All team members are to have flu vaccinations Influenza vaccination information for healthcare workers - Fact sheets (nsw.gov.au)
4. All businesses must have insurance.
Daily IPC Checks
All support workers (and any other workers or contractors) need to complete the following on a daily basis.
1. Daily temperature checks and recording
2. Daily check in with a Covid-19 safety questionnaire https://enrichedhealthcare.com/covid-19-questionnaire/. If you tick yes to any risk screening questions you can not complete a work shift.
3. Social distancing where possible
4. Use of hand sanitiser as per infection prevention and control guidelines
5. Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment that considers the risk matrix Work permissions and restrictions framework for workers in health care settings and PPE guidance for health work force.
a. Wearing at minimum a p1 surgical mask at all times including but not limited to working including in home, outdoors and in motor vehicles.
b. Using eye protection where indicated as per the risk matrix
6. Environmental Cleaning. All participant equipment should be cleaned and disinfected daily and between worker shifts with Oxivir | Diversey Australia

8. Waste management. All waste to be disposed of as per the following
